Jerry's manager, George Shapiro, is also featured in this excellent documentary. With O. Adams he's an almost fatherly, amused, guiding figure. With Jerry, he's more of a friend and very considerate, wise counsel. He would be anyone's dream of a manager.

Boy, I guess I just didn't know what I was getting into buying this. I may have chuckled once at something said during this entire DVD. In fact I shut it off before it was over because I think I had to go clean my microwave or something. Okay, I know now that it is a documentary, but it was not even remotely interesting. I've laughed more at episodes of the History Channel's week-long series called "king tut's mysteries." It took a lot away from the Jerry I was used to watching. It shows him hanging around with Collin Quin pretending to be funny at dinner and some other yahoos you've never heard of. And how could this cat Orney Adams be remotely considered entertaining? Who cares that he has saved every joke since he he was 12? Yet he's heralded as the next big thing to hit comedy. One of the reason's I bought this DVD was to see Jerry's "interview" with Jiminy Glick and that wasn't even close to funny. Something else that kind of bothered me is that you see Jerry dropping F-bombs left and right. It's just I thought he was a lot classier than that and above having to resort to that kind of dialogue to make a point. Chris Rock is on the other hand the master at dropping F-bombs in his routine, but it tends to fit his persona moreso than Jerry's. Rock is still the king of comedy today. I certainly give this suck-umentary an F and hope Jerry sticks to what has worked for him in the past. And please, please, keep Orney Adams tucked away on some remote island. Perhaps we could have him unleash some his so-called jokes on the terrorists in captivity at Guantanimo Bay... that might just get them to tell us where UBL is hiding.

I love Jerry, and everything he does. But I gotta tell you, I was pretty bored with this. It was interesting in the fact that you got to watch him work on his new act from scratch, But it would be nice if at the end you got to see the full act. Plus this Orny guy just made the film come to a screeching halt. Very annoying, I had to fast forward through his scenes after a while. I couldn't take him anymore. It was uplifting to see all the other famous comedians there going through the same type of pressure.

I also felt that the video quality was poor at best. Almost shot entirely in the dark, it was very grainy. Plus it's only available in full screen format.

The supplemental material is very good. Lot's of stuff to choose from and you can skip the Orny parts all together.

I'd like to give it more stars, but it just didn't keep my attention, which is too bad `cause I really couldn't wait to see this.
